Smartphone Donations

Millions of new smartphones are purchased annually in the United States. Meanwhile, consumers accumulate old phones or these old phones contribute to e-waste. On the other hand, many clinics in developing countries around the world are understaffed and undersupplied. We are bridging these two problems by collecting used phones and repurposing and donating them to rural clinics in India. Patients and community health workers at these clinics can use these phones to send images and information to physicians for remote medical evaluation. Telemedicine has the potential to bring healthcare access to previously underserved populations, so we are excited and passionate about our work in this area.
